The April 2020 University of Virginia Wiki Medicine meetup is an online event for anyone at the University of Virginia to meet and edit Wikipedia articles together. Join the event to get an introduction to editing Wikipedia and have fun editing the Wikipedia article of your choice. No prior Wikipedia editing experience is required.
Preparation
[edit]Just show up
- Create a Wikimedia account if you do not have one.
- Please sign in through the big text at top so that the can find your account name and the article you edited
- Editing Wikipedia requires citing sources. Ideally read a medical review article in advance and be ready to cite it as you add facts from it to Wikipedia.
Program
[edit]All doctors will treat patients who read Wikipedia medical articles about medical conditions, drugs, and proce[dures. Attendees of this event will gain some understanding of what Wikipedia is and why it matters in health media. Everyone who joins will get the opportunity to add information any Wikipedia article of their choice.
