Montana State Ambassadors table for Wikipedia
[edit]Montana State University Campus Ambassadors Mike Cline and Bonnie McCallum spent two days last week running an outreach table for Wikipedia at the student center on the Bozeman Campus. Mike and Bonnie were there to recruit students to write content, recruit professors to use Wikipedia in their classes, and form a Wikipedia Student Club on the MSU campus. They signed up five new Wikipedians in real time at their booth. See the course page for the MSU class.
Four classes vie for top Leaderboard slot
[edit]Have you checked out the Leaderboard recently? As we near the end of the semester, the gap between courses is getting smaller. Only 330 characters of content per student separate the top four classes in the Public Policy Initiative. The Leaderboard will be next updated on Thursday -- check out the current status and be ready to look in two days to see where the class you're rooting for is.
Ambassador selected as Wikipedian in Residence
[edit]The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) have announced their very first Wikipedian in Residence, and it's Simmons College Campus Ambassador Dominic McDevitt-Parks. The Wikipedian in Residence program is a project of the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) outreach efforts. Dominic will spend his summer making the holdings of the U.S. National Archives more readily available on Wikipedia. Learn more about Dominic's project.

[edit]Thanks to everyone who voted in the Ambassador Steering Committee election. Six members have been elected to form the next corps of volunteers to oversee the expansion of the Wikipedia Ambassador program. Check out the new members of the Ambassador Steering Committee.
