Hello, and welcome to the May edition of the WikiProject U2 newsletter. (Unfortunately, the October issue did not coincide with October, but this month's theme is October.) Enjoy!
New Members
The Album
October was released on October 16, 1981.
It is generally considered one of U2's weakest albums, with very religious lyrics.
Bono lost the lyrics to the album, and had to improvise through much of the album. The briefcase was returned in 2004.
Gloria was U2's first music video, shot on a barge in Dublin.
The music video for Gloria was very popular at the time on MTV.
The singles from October were "Fire" and "Gloria".
