I've had a small discussion of this article being rated a GA but there's not much that I can see which can be added unless some one has images of Kiko's effects in Mexico (which would be greatly appreciated). User:Juliancolton said that the article could probably pass GA as it is, so I wanted to look for an A-class article assessment. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 03:39, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, A-class and GA are two different scales, so you could still GA nom this. Quick list of things to do.
  • The first sentence could stand to be more interesting, or at least more concise. I would even be happy with "Kiko was the final tropical cyclone of the 2007 PHS".
  • I recommend removing the sentence on the pre-tropical wave from the lede. The lede is to get people into the article, and to summarize it without going into excessive details. Cover the basic details like where/when it formed, peak strength, land affected, and dissipation.
  • Remove all of the nautical mile units and replace with just mile, which is a project standard.
  • More impact would be nice. Currently, there is a lot in the Preparations and Impact about what was expected, but it doesn't say what actually happened.
  • Sort of related to the above, I recommend checking Spanish sources for either more preparations or some impact. As A-class is just a half-notch below featured status, it means that the article needs something special about it, so digging up some Mexican impact would be a great start of what to do next.
Good luck with the article. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:30, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trying for A-class again, I think it's ready this time. The article has been peer reviewed twice, been copy edited, and reviewed two other times in FAC's. This is the last step before going for FA again. All comments are welcome :) Cyclonebiskit (talk) 00:13, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have all of the comments from the other FAC's been addressed? I notice that my concerns were not dealt with (status of the capsized boat, the missing people, and actual impact in SW Mexico). Oppose as a result (sorry). ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:38, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Status of the boat- underwater, Status of the missing people- missing, couldn't find any impact. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 00:46, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I meant "status" as in more info on the boat (exact location, name of it). If you could find its name, then surely you could find more info on it, such as whether those missing people were ever found, or whether they perished. My biggest issue is that capsized ship info is from while the storm was still active. For overall impact, I don't believe that a thorough enough search was done. Mexico is a modern country, meaning it usually has good info, but it is also a mountainous country, meaning that heavy rainfall always causes some impact. My oppose remains. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:55, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've found nothing more about both the ship and the rains. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 20:17, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
