Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Assessment/Effects of Hurricane Noel in the United States
Might as well bump it to A-Class while I wait to FAC it. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 02:25, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- Units: It is missing a few non-breaking spaces. Units need wikilinks on their first instance. Also ranges like "2 in (50 mm) to 4 in (100 mm)" should be "2 to 4 in (50 to 100 mm)".
- Overlinking: Scallops, snow, condominium, and sailboat don't need to be linked.
- Ciations: Publications dates should be given, not just publication years. Also, tag the PDFs with "format=PDF".
- Other than those little things, this looks pretty good. If we can get two more opinions I would support A-class. Plasticup T/C 21:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
The primary concern in the FAC was whether it should be merged or not. That needs to be decided before the next FAC. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Final review
[edit]All right, guys, like I said, in order to keep this page small, we'll be periodically flushing the page by promoting/archiving pages that become inactive. At this point, we'll enter the "FARC" phase of the review, so it's time to just !!vote under the usual rules to see whether we promote the page to A-Class or not. I'll close this review on 2008-12-31, so please comment in support or opposition to this article's promotion to A-Class. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 08:43, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Support
- Meets the Criteria. VX!~~~ 21:20, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Meets criteria. Also, in response to the oppose by Hink: If you look at the Noel article in the long run, it will likely get bigger, meaning this article is needed, it's also a retired storm so throwing tons of information into an article that is likely to grow wouldn't do much good. - Oppose
- Weak oppose on the basis that it could be merged. I'd like to see the rest of Hurricane Noel developed, to see whether the article could be merged or not. I feel that if it could be merged, then it should not be A-class or featured. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:43, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Comments
- A-Class articles can be merged, so that should not be an impediment to promotion to A-Class status or not. The assessment scale isn't AFD... Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff)
- Isn't that a stability concern? ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 07:56, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure about that. The assessment process is supposed to look at the quality of an article, and we have other vehicles to deal with whether an article should exist at all. I'm rather leery of having flammable discussions such as merging spread to the assessment processes as well. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 04:28, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Part of my concern is that we might not want to merge it if it's A-class, or even featured. It's only a weak oppose. If three others support (per the rules), I wouldn't be angry if it was A-class. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:51, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well, so far nobody has supported it, so the point might be moot... Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 19:25, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
