The railroad of the Tucson and Nogales Railroad Company, hereinafter called the Tucson and Nogales, consists of a single-track branch line located within the State of Arizona and extending from Tucson to Calabasas, a distance of 55.379 miles.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Tucson and Nogales was incorporated November 8, 1909, under the general laws of the Territory of Arizona, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from Tucson to Nogales, Ariz. The date of its organization was November 24, 1909. This company acquired by purchase on April 18, 1910, the property of The Twin Buttes Railroad Company, which had been incorporated in the Territory of Arizona on September 23, 1904.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the Tucson and Nogales amounts to 55.379 miles, of which 37.440 miles, extending from Sahuarita to Calabasas, Ariz., was constructed by it during 1909 and 1910. The remaining 17.939 miles between Tucson and Sahuarita, Ariz., was constructed by The Twin Buttes Railroad Company during 1905 and 1906 and was acquired by purchase from that company April 18, 1910.
