The railroad of Tooele Valley Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge railroad situated wholly in Tooele County in the State of Utah. The line was built to serve the copper and lead mines in the Oquirrh Mountains. It extends from Tooele Junction, where it connects with the line of the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company, eastward to International, where it connects with the smelter and yard tracks owned and operated by the International Smelting Company. The carrier owns 6.236 miles of main line and 1.698 miles of other tracks, a total of 7.933 miles of all tracks.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated under the laws of the State of Utah on November 18, 1908. Substantially all of the property was constructed by the carrier, which used for this purpose the forces and organization of the International Smelting Company and of its predecessor corporation, the International Smelting and Refining Company. Construction work was begun about November 18, 1908, and the completed road was opened for operation about October 16, 1909.
