The railroad of the Tionesta Valley Railway Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, narrow-gauge, steam railroad, extending northwardly from Hallton to Vandergriffs, Pa., 61.056 miles, with a branch extending from Big Run Junction, and another from near Clarendon, into adjacent timberlands, in that State, 14.133 and 6.103 miles, respectively, making the total of first main track 81.292 miles. For about 11 miles northward from Hallton, and a mile at Sheffield, there is laid an extra rail to provide for the handling of standard-gauge equipment. The carrier also owns and uses 21.599 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 102.891 miles of all tracks owned, all of which it uses.

- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage of the carrier, amounting to 81.292 miles, was acquired partly through the reorganization of February 17, 1904, and partly through construction. The company also acquired additional mileage by purchase, but such property has been abandoned. Of the 10 corporations that comprise the line of succession culminating in the carrier as at present constituted, 4 corporations, namely, The Warren & Farnsworth Railroad Company, Cherry Grove Railroad Company, Elk & Highland Railway Company, and The Spring Creek Railway Company, did not construct any mileage. The property constructed by the carrier and the remaining corporations, the approximate dates when the various portions of the line were constructed, and the manner in which the carrier acquired the property, are indicaed in the following table:
