The railroad of the Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. The owned mileage runs in a southwesterly direction from Alton Park, Tenn., to Gadsden, Ala. The carrier operates under lease 0.070 mile of road in Chattanooga, Tenn. The carrier wholly owns and uses 99.431 miles of all tracks and uses but does not own 0.142 mile of all tracks, all of which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.

The carrier was incorporated under the general laws of the States of Alabama and Georgia for the purpose of acquiring the property, rights, and franchises of the Gadsden & Birmingham Railroad Company, the Chattanooga and Atlanta Railroad Company, and the Chattanooga Southern Railroad Company, which was done. - DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage of the carrier, amounting to 86.765 miles, was all acquired by consolidation from the Chattanooga Southern Railroad Company. The greater part of this mileage had been constructed by that company and the Chattanooga Southern Railway Company and the remainder had been purchased from individuals by the first-named predecessor, as indicated below. The other two companies included in the line of succession culminating in the carrier as at present constituted, did not construct any road or other common-carrier property.
