The Tabor & Northern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located entirely within the State of Iowa, and extending from Tabor, northeasterly to Malvern, a distance of 8.613 miles. The carrier also owns yard tracks and sidings aggregating 0.729 mile, making a total of all tracks owned of 9.342 miles. In addition to this mileage, the carrier uses jointly with the owner tracks and buildings comprising station facilities at Malvern, which are owned by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated November 3, 1887, under the general laws of Iowa. Its principal office is at Tabor, Iowa. Due to the fact that the carrier's books and other records have not been properly kept, but little information concerning its affairs was obtainable. The development of the fixed physical property is discussed in Appendix 2.
