The common-carrier property of the St. Joseph Belt Railway Company, herein called the carrier, is located in South St. Joseph, Mo., and consists of terminal facilities serving packing companies and allied industries. The property operated is on leased lands, and includes 2.327 miles of main track and 21.244 miles of yard tracks and sidings.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated July 6, 1908, under the general laws of the State of Missouri, for the stated purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad within Buchanan County, Mo.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The carrier's owned property, consisting of tracks and other terminal facilities constructed on leased lands, was acquired by purchase from the St. Joseph Stock Yards Company on August 1, 1908. The property so purchased had been constructed by the vendor during the period from 1880 to 1908, and had been operated by that company from May 1, 1898, to September 30, 1908.
