The railroad of the Shamokin, Sunbury and Lewisburg Railroad Company, herein called the Shamokin, Sunbury and Lewisburg, is a double-track line extending from Herndon Junction, near Shamokin, to West Milton, Pa., a distance of 32.100 miles, including two short branches.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Shamokin, Sunbury and Lewisburg was incorporated on February 17, 1882, under the general laws of Pennsylvania. It was organized on February 18, 1882.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The mileage owned by the Shamokin, Sunbury and Lewisburg, amounting to 32.10 miles, was acquired by construction which was begun shortly after the date of its incorporation. The road was completed and placed in operation about July 2, 1883.
