- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated September 20, 1905, under the general laws of the State of Wyoming, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from a point at or near Walcott to Encampment, Wyo. The date of its organization was September 20, 1905.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage of the carrier was all acquired by construction during the years 1906 to 1908, inclusive. The following information relative to the construction of its railroad was reported by the carrier in its report upon its corporate history. The railroad was originally promoted by E. H. Powers who called the project the Denver, Yellowstone Park and Pacific. A survey was made by Powers from Denver, Colo., to Walcott, Wyo., and he also did some grading on the line between Walcott and Saratoga, Wyo. The carrier paid Powers's obligations and completed construction from Walcott to Saratoga on July 17, 1907, and from Saratoga to Encampment in August, 1908.
