The railroad of the Philadelphia and Reading Terminal Railroad Company, herein called the Philadelphia and Reading Terminal, consists of 1.205 miles of road, together with a terminal passenger station, commonly known as the Reading Terminal, and other property, all located in the city of Philadelphia, Pa. The railroad has four tracks except for one short section, which is double track.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Philadelphia and Reading Terminal was incorporated April 13, 1888, under the general laws of Pennsylvania and was organized on the following day.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The property owned by the Philadelphia and Reading Terminal on date of valuation was acquired by construction. Most of the property was built by contract. Work was begun in 1891 and the road was opened for complete operation on January 29, 1893.
