The railroad of The Philadelphia and Chester Valley Railroad Company, herein called the Philadelphia and Chester Valley, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania. The owned mileage extends in a southwesterly direction from Bridgeport to Downington, a distance of 23.968 miles, including a branch 3 miles in length which leaves the main line at Cedar Hollow. The Philadelphia and Chester Valley also also owns and uses 5.245 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 29.213 miles of all tracks owned.
