The railroad of the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad Company, herein called the carrier, is a standard-gauge, steam-operated, switching railroad, located at South Bethlehem, Pa. The carrier owns 10.318 miles of first main and 4.516 miles of second main tracks, together with 52.455 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 67.289 miles of all tracks wholly owned and used. The major portion of the right of way is leased from the Bethlehem Steel Company.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated April 12, 1910, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania. The date of organization of the company was April 12, 1910. This company acquired by deed dated April 23, 1915, certain tracks, but not including the right of way, from the Bethlehem Steel Company, which is not considered a corporate predecessor of this company.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The railroad owned by the carrier, consisting of 10.318 miles of main line, 4.516 miles of second main track, and 52.455 miles of yard tracks and sidings, waa acquired partly by purchase from the Bethlehem Steel Company and partly by construction.
