The railroad owned and operated by the Peru, La Salle & Deer Park Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, consists of 3.039 miles of standard-gage yard tracks and sidings located at Peru, Ill., and entirely within the plant of the Illinois Zinc Company. The carrier has trackage rights over 0.230 mile of yard tracks at Peru, Ill., owned by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company, and also uses certain plant tracks of the Illinois Zinc Company. The carrier is an industrial switching road controlled by the Illinois Zinc Company, owner of a large zinc plant at Peru, served by this railroad.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated December 8, 1905, under the general laws of Illinois, to construct a railroad for the transportation of freight, passengers, express, and mail. The date of its organization was December 16, 1905.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road, all owned, consisting of 3.039 miles of yard tracks and sidings, was acquired by purchase June 9, 1906, from the Illinois Zinc Company, a non-carrier, by whom it had been constructed prior to 1906.
