The railroad of Oregon, Pacific and Eastern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located entirely within the State of Oregon and extending from Cottage Grove to Disston, a distance of 19.882 miles. In addition, the carrier owns 9.165 miles of yard and side tracks. Its road thus embraces 29.047 miles of all tracks.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated on October 14, 1912, under the general laws of Oregon. Its principal office is located at Cottage Grove. On January 1, 1914, under a reorganization plan, described in Appendix 2, the carrier acquired the property, rights, and franchises of the Oregon and Southeastern Railroad Company, which company had been incorporated in Oregon on March 1, 1905.
