The Ogden Union Railway and Depot Company, hereinafter called the Ogden Union Depot, owns and operates a passenger and freight depot and other terminal facilities at Ogden, Utah, in the joint interest of the Southern Pacific Company, as lessee of Central Pacific Railway Company, Union Pacific Railroad Company, Oregon Short Line Railroad Company, and The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company, hereinafter collectively referred to as the lessees. The Ogden Union Depot owns and uses 17.010 miles of all tracks, consisting of 1.644 miles of first main track, 1.254 miles of other main tracks, and 14.112 miles of yard tracks and sidings.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Ogden Union Depot was incorporated September 19, 1888, under the general laws of the Territory of Utah, for a period of 50 years for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad terminal in the city of Ogden, in order to consolidate and simplify the handling of trains of carriers which were operating or might thereafter operate in or near that city.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The property of the Ogden Union Depot, consisting of 1.644 miles of first main track, 1.254 miles second main track, and 14.112 miles of yard tracks and sidings, together with depot and other facilities, was acquired by construction, begun during 1888 and completed during 1889. Additions and improvements have been made from time to time to date of valuation.
