The road owned by the carrier was acquired through consolidation and merger of July 1, 1904. Records obtained do not indicate that the Oswayo Valley Railroad Company, consolidated November 26, 1920, owned any property.
The recorded mileage owned by the carrier is 56.21 miles; 51.73 miles were acquired from the New York and Pennsylvania Railway Company (first corporation), of which the New York and Pennsylvania Railroad Company constructed 28.02 miles in 1897 from Canisteo, N. Y., to Genesee, Pa., 5.81 miles in 1900 from Oswayo to Millport, Pa., 4.75 miles in 1901 from Millport to Shinglehouse, Pa., and the Olean, Oswayo & Eastern Railroad Company, constructed during 1893-95 13.15 miles from Genesee to Oswayo, Pa. 0.22 mile was acquired from the Sharon & Ceres Terminal Railroad Company, constructed by it in 1904 from the Pennsylvania-New York State line to Ceres, N. Y., and 4.26 miles were acquired from the Sharon & Ceres Railroad Company, constructed by it in 1901 from Shinglehouse, Pa., to New York-Pennsylvania State line, near Ceres.
