The railroad of the New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois Railroad Company, herein called the New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in northern Indiana. The main line extends from South Bend to Pine, 11.321 miles. The company also owns 1.800 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 13.121 miles of all tracks owned and used.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois was incorporated October 27, 1902, under the general laws of Indiana.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The entire 11.321 miles of road owned was acquired by construction during the years 1904 and 1905. The road was constructed for the New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois, under contract, by the Universal Construction Company, an affiliated company.
