The railroad of Mountain Central Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track narrow-gauge steam railroad located in the western part of Kentucky. The owned mileage extends in a southeasterly direction from Campton Junction to Campton, a distance of 12.313 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 1.105 miles. Its road thus embraces 13.418 miles of all tracks owned. In Appendix 1 will be found a general description of the property of the carrier.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated September 11, 1914, under the general laws of Kentucky. The purpose of incorporation was to acquire, [sic] purchase or otherwise, to own, construct, equip, maintain, and operate a railroad with single or more tracks between the points named above. The property of the carrier has always been operated by its own organization. The principal office is located in Clay City, Ky. The detailed facts as to the development of fixed physical property are given in Appendix 2.
