The railroad of the Mississippian Railway, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located within the State of Mississippi. The main line extends northeasterly from a connection with the tracks of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company at Amory to Fulton, a distance of 24.238 miles. The carrier also owns 1.306 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 25.544 miles of all tracks owned and used. The carrier leases all of its rail and certain track fastenings from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company. The carrier grants trackage rights over about 15 miles of its road from Smithville to Fulton, Miss., to the B. H. Baine Lumber Company for the operation of logging trains.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated August 1, 1923, under general laws of Mississippi, to construct and operate a line of railroad from the tracks of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company at or near Amory to a point at or near Fulton, Miss. The date of organization was August 4, 1923.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage, with exception of rails and angle bars, was acquired by construction from August 1923, to December 31, 1924, by company forces, 82 I.C.C. 698. Total recorded mileage is 24.00 and the inventoried mileage, 24.238. All rails and angle bars are leased from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company, 82 I.C.C. 699.
