- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated December 18, 1925, under general laws of West Virginia, for the purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad in Clay County, W. Va., constructed by the Hartland Colliery Company and extending in a southwesterly direction from Hartland to Bickmore. The date of organization was not determined. Acquisition and operation of this property was authorized by us, October 21, 1926 (117 I.C.C. 103). Parties in interest being unable to agree as to fair value of the property have executed a temporary lease dated November 15, 1926, which has our approval (117 I.C.C. 110).
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The carrier owns no railroad. The railroad operated by it on date of valuation extends from Hartland to Bickmore, W. Va., 4.099 miles, and was constructed by or for the Hartland Colliery Company during 1916 and 1917.
