The railroad of the McCloud River Railroad Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in the northern part of California. The owned mileage extends in a northeasterly direction from Sisson to the terminus of the line, 57.711 miles. The carrier also owns 17.520 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 75.231 miles of all tracks owned.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated January 22, 1897, under the general laws of the State of California to purchase, construct, and operate a line of railroad from Upton to Fall River, Calif. The date of organization was January 26, 1897.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage of the carrier, 57.711 miles, was all acquired by construction, the work being performed by the carrier's own forces. The years when the various portions of the line were completed are indicated in the following statement:
