The railroad of the Mansfield Railway & Transportation Company, herein called the Mansfield Railway, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad located in Louisiana, extending from the Texas and Pacific Railway crossing at South Mansfield to passenger and freight depot at Mansfield, and from a connection with that railway near Mansfield to a connection with the same railway at South Mansfield. The Mansfield Railway owns and uses 3.407 miles of road and 3.388 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 6.795 miles of all tracks owned [?]


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Mansfield Railway was incorporated February 16, 1881, under the general laws of the State of Louisiana, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad in the State of Louisiana. The date of organization has not been determined.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Mansfield Railway, 3.407 miles, was acquired as stated hereunder:

By construction, from a point on Washington Avenue in Mansfield, La., to a point of connection with the road of the Texas and Pacific, 1882 1.85

De Soto Land and Lumber Company, Nov. 1, 1908, from a connection with the above-described line at a point on Washington Avenue, Mansfield, La., to a point about 8 miles southwesterly therefrom; constructed by that company during the period Apr. 21, 1905, to to[sic] April 1907 8.00
Frost–Johnson Lumber Company, June 1, 1909, from the end of line as described above to a point about 6 miles southwesterly therefrom; constructed by that company during the period April 1907, to Dec. 31, 1908 6.00
