The railroad of Little River Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the eastern part of Tennessee. The owned mileage extends southeastwardly from Walland to Forks, Tenn., a distance of 11.075 miles.
Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated under the general laws of the State of Tennessee on November 21, 1901, for the purpose of constructing a railroad from Chilhowee Gap up the Little River to the forks, with branch lines extending to the North Carolina State line. The organization of the carrier was perfected November 16, 1901. Its principal office is located at Townsend.
