The railroad of Laurinburg & Southern Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad extending northwardly from Johns to Wagram, N. C., a distance of 16.966 miles. The carrier also owns and uses 3.538 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 20.494 miles of all tracks.

The carrier was incorporated March 4, 1909, under the general laws of the State of North Carolina.

The owned mileage of this company was acquired by construction during the years 1909 and 1910. The material for the construction was acquired by the carrier and the labor was performed by Wade and Morrison, contractors, who were not affiliated with the company.
