The railroad of Laurel Fork Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, performing freight service only, located in the northeastern part of Tennessee. The owned mileage extends in a southeasterly direction from Elizabethton to Frog Level a distance of 14.932 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 4.544 miles. Its road thus embraces 19.476 miles of all tracks owned. In Appendix 1 will be found a general description of the property of the carrier.
Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated April 15, 1910, under the general laws of Tennessee, the purpose being to construct and operate a railroad from Elizabethton to Laban, all in Carter County, Tenn. The date of organization was April 15, 1910. The principal office of the carrier is located at Hampton, Tenn. The detailed facts as to the development of the fixed physical property are given in Appendix 2.
