Location and general description of property.—The railroad of the Florida, Alabama and Gulf Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the States of Florida and Alabama. The owned main line extends northwardly from Galliver, Fla., to Falco, Ala., a distance of 25.635 miles.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated September 28, 1911, under the general laws of the State of Alabama for the purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad extending from Galliver, Fla., to Falco, Ala., owned by the Florida & Alabama Land Company. Pursuant to the above purpose, the carrier acquired at its organization, September 28, 1911, 25.635 miles of railroad from the company mentioned above.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, 25.635 miles, was all acquired by purchase from the Florida & Alabama Land Company. It was constructed by the latter company, which operated it in connection with a lumber mill from September 1, 1911, to September 28, 1911. The greater portion of the rail and fastenings used in the railroad owned by the carrier are leased from the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company.
