The railroad of Ensley Southern Railway Company, herein called the Ensley Southern, is a single-track road wholly within the State of Alabama and is in two parts, one extending from Parrish to Drifton and the other from Ensley to Maxine. It connects with the Southern at Parrish and Ensley. The property embraces 29.032 miles of first main and 8.178 miles of yard and side tracks, a total of 37.210 miles of all tracks.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The Ensley Southern was incorporated on February 23, 1900, under the general railroad laws of Alabama, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad either extending from Ensley or Bessemer or from any point between those towns to a point at or near Parrish, Ala.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Ensley Southern, 27.713 miles, was all acquired by construction. The years when the various portions of the line were constructed are indicated in the following statement:

Ensley to Little Warrior River, March, 1902 19
