The railroad of the Delaware and Bound Brook Railroad Company, herein called the Delaware and Bound Brook, is a double-track line extending from the Pennsylvania-New Jersey State line to Bound Brook, N. J., a distance of 30.923 miles. This road has third and fourth main tracks for most of the distance. It also has a single-track branch extending from Trenton Junction to Trenton, N. J.
From the date its property was placed in operation, May 1, 1876, to April 30, 1879, the property was operated by its own organization. From this date to date of valuation it has been operated in succession by The Philadelphia and Reading Railroad Company and the Philadelphia and Reading under lease agreement.

The Delaware and Bound Brook was incorporated May 12, 1874, under the general laws of New Jersey. It was organized on the date of incorporation.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The mileage owned by the Delaware and Bound Brook, amounting to 30.923 miles, was acquired by construction which was begun in 1874. The road was built principally by contract and was completed and opened for operation on May 1, 1876.
