Location and general description of property.—The railroad of Carrollton & Worthville Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the northwestern part of Kentucky. The owned main line extends northwestwardly from Worthville to Carrollton, a distance of 8.815 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 0.713 mile. Its road thus embraces 9.528 miles of all tracks owned.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated April 9, 1905, under the general laws of the State of Kentucky. The purpose for which the carrier was incorporated could not be determined from the records. Its principal office is located at Carrollton. The detailed facts as to the development of fixed physical property are given in Appendix 2.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier on date of valuation was acquired by construction which commenced May 10, 1905, and was completed December 14, 1905. On April 7, 1905, H. E. Randall, promoter of the carrier, entered into a contract with the Commercial Club of Carrollton [...] The carrier was incorporated by Randall and James Gayle, his associate, and the railroad was constructed by Henry Steubing under contract.
