The railroad of the Cairo, Truman and Southern Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad extending in a southerly direction from Truman to Weona, Ark., a distance of 11.011 miles. It wholly owns and uses 21.828 miles of all tracks, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated February 8, 1912, under the general laws of the State of Arkansas for the stated purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad to extend from Truman to Earle, Ark.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier amounting to 11.011 miles, was acquired partly by purchase and partly by construction during the years 1912 to 1914. The purchased property consisted of about 5 miles of log tramroad acquired during 1912 from the Truman Cooperage and Lumber Company.
