The railroad of Blaney and Southern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in the eastern part of the northern peninsula of Michigan. The owned mileage extends northerly from Blaney Junction to Blaney, Mich., a distance of 6.625 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 1.288 miles. Its road thus embraces 7.913 miles of all tracks owned. In Appendix 1 will be found a general description of the property of the carrier.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated on October 18, 1902, under the laws of the State of Michigan, for the purpose of constructing a line of railway in Schoolcraft County, starting from an intersection with Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railway Company. Its principal office is at Hermansville, Mich. The railroad was constructed by the carrier and completed about June, 1904. The carrier is controlled by members of the Wisconsin Land and Lumber Company through ownership of the entire capital stock.
