The primary tasks of the project will be to produce articles about the basics of sports car racing. These articles will contain the most basic information about the subject like history, champions or winners, locations, notability, and so on.
The following are types of primary articles that should be dealt with first, with examples:
- Example: Japan Le Mans Challenge
- Example: Automobile Club de l'Ouest
- Individual races with a long history or notability
- Example: 1000km Nürburgring
- Racing circuits with a long history or notability
- Example: Sebring International Raceway
- Manufacturers with a long history or notability
- Example: Lola Cars
- Example: Group 5 (racing)
- Sports car technology and design
- Example: Gurney flap
- Sports car racing terminology
- Example: Endurance racing
These tasks are more in-depth, providing a wealth of information about specific areas of sportscar racing. These will take much longer than any of the primary tasks due to the vast amount of wealth necessary to complete the task.
The following are types of secondary articles that should be dealt with if you have specific knowledge about the large amount of information necessary, again with examples:
- Individual championship seasons
- Example: 1992 World Sportscar Championship season
- Individual races in a season
- Example: 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans
- Example: Ecurie Ecosse
- Notable driver biographies and histories
- Example: Johnny O'Connell
- Racing circuits that lack a history, but are still notable
- Example: Masaryk Circuit
- Example: Porsche 911 GT1
- Manufacturers that lack a history, but are still notable
- Example: Dome (constructor)
- Engine builders that are separate from chassis manufacturers
- Example: Judd (engine)
- Adding photographs for articles
- Example: Image:Gtp sports cars.jpg
Other tasks that do not fit into primary or secondary categories are ones that can be done simple in free time, and have no set structure. This includes correcting typos, mistakes, and grammar errors in articles, as well asproofreading or proposing questions to editors regarding facts or substance.
If you create or find another other useful tools that you feel the rest of us should know about, feel free to add them to this list. If possible, inform others on this page's talk page so that some do not miss it.
