This template's purpose is to easily output the club colours of the clubs.

Usage

[edit]

Icons should not be overused, nor should they be used solely for decoration (MOS:DECOR). The following are agreed instances on when it can be appropriate to use icons:

The use of icons is inappropriate and should be avoided in:

  • Ladder progression tables
  • Transfer lists
  • Player statistics tables
  • Attendance tables/boxes
  • Individual match scoreboards where templates such as {{rugbyleaguebox}} or Category:Tournament bracket templates are used
  • Infoboxes for season or competition articles

Usage is not mandatory. As stated at MOS:DECOR Icons should serve an encyclopedic purpose and not merely be decorative. They should provide additional useful information on the article subject, serve as visual cues that aid the reader's comprehension, or improve navigation. Icons should not be used for amateur teams, for example, as they do not aid navigation or comprehension, especially if there is no article about the club. Care should also be taken that icons are accurate for the dates in question. For example, St Helens did not originally wear red and white kit, so the use of the current icon would be inappropriate for articles dealing with the period before the club adopted of red and white.

Syntax

[edit]

To use the template anywhere in Wikipedia. Follow the code below.

{{league icon|KEYWORD}}
See the table below to what you can enter in the KEYWORD part.
It is default sized to 23px

For example,

{{league icon|Brisbane}} will equate to
{{league icon|KEYWORD|size=SIZE}}
See the table below to what you can enter in the KEYWORD part.
The size should be size=(what ever size you want)
Please do not put px on it, enter a number (e.g. 50)

For example,

{{league icon|Brisbane|size=80}} will equate to
{{league icon|KEYWORD|align=ALIGNMENT}}
You can align where the image goes, which will then wrap it around the text
Simply add align=(what ever alignment you want)

For example,

{{league icon|Brisbane|align=right}} will equate to →
