Wikipedia:WikiProject Mysticism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WikiProject Mysticism aims primarily to organise, neutrally develop, and improve the series of articles on mysticism in accord with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. It also seeks to ensure NPOV across articles related to mysticism. It is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page.

This project would support the articles related to Sufism.

Scope

[edit]

The scope of this project is articles across multiple categories which have a bearing on mysticism.

  • (1) We will work to create, improve, and maintain those articles which deal with mysticism.
  • (2) We will assist in the assessment of articles in the field of mysticism, particularly those articles which have not yet been assessed.

To do

[edit]
  • Add all articles within the direct scope of this project to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Mysticism/Articles list by category.
  • Create a list of articles tagged by this project needing some variety of cleanup.
  • Put tags at top of articles which will be of interest to this WikiProject
  • The article on Julian of Norwich could do with a tag saying it would be of interest to this WikiProject.  Done

Article alerts

[edit]

TBD On the article on Teresa of Avila, there is a talk page claiming that Karen Armstrong has argued that Teresa of Avila had some links to Judaism. If any one knows about this, it could be added to the article. Vorbee (talk) 19:08, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recognized content

[edit]

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Mysticism/Recognized content.

Templates

[edit]

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Mysticism/Templates

There are a number of articles that could do with the template "This article is of interest to WikiProject Mysticism" on their talk pages. The most obvious article is the article on Mysticism, but there are many other articles which could do with this template - for example, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Ignatius of Loyola, Inayat Khan, and the articles on Sufism, Western Sufism, and new religious movement.

All interested parties should feel free to add their names below, and if they wish to add the {{User WPMys}} or {{User WPMysticism/Userbox 2}} to their userpages. Also, please indicate any fields of specific knowledge or interest if you see fit. We may in the future be interested in setting up subprojects, and it would be useful to know early if there is any interest in any particular fields.
