- This is a little repetitive: "South West Pacific Area[note 1] (SWPA) was the name given to the Allied supreme military command in the South West Pacific Theatre of World War II. It was one of four major Allied commands in the Pacific theatres of World War II...", specifically is "World War II" required a second time? (minor nitpick)
- Re-worded. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Grammer here I think: "It primarily consisted of United States, Australian forces, although Dutch, Filipino, British and other Allied forces also served in the SWPA...", consider perhaps "It primarily consisted of United States and Australian forces, although Dutch, Filipino, British and other Allied forces also served in the SWPA."
- Done. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- "General Douglas MacArthur was appointed as the Supreme Commander Southwest Pacific Area (SWPA)." When?
- On 18 April 1942. Added. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- In the lead "the last command disappeared when Corregidor surrendered on 6 May." Which year?
- 1942. Added. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- "The matter of changes in command arrangement...", → "command arrangements"?
"Australian defence forces...", was not really a common term at the time, perhaps consider "Australian military and naval personnel..." or something similar (I realise you aren't using it as a proper noun though).- No! This is the actual term used at the time. I spent a lot of time looking this up once before. The term "Australian defence forces" seems to have replaced "Australian military and naval forces" in the 1920s after the RAAF became the third service. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Fair enough, I can accept I'm probably wrong about this. Anotherclown (talk) 21:01, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- "MacArthur became the Supreme Commander Southwest Pacific Area (SWPA)..." When?
- Added. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm unclear quite what you mean by this sentence: "USAFIA was commanded by Major General Julian F. Barnes, who had commanded the first US troops to arrive in Australia, at Brisbane in December 1941." Do you mean Barnes took command of USAFIA in December 1941 or that the first US troops that arrived in Australia landed at Brisbane in December 1941 (or both)? This might need to be re-worded.
- Yes. Added a bit. Hawkeye7 (talk) 05:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Should "Comsouwespac" be capitalised? Anotherclown (talk) 22:16, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment: haven't look over ervything imagewise but File:GHQ.JPG needs a source or reference about where it comes from and there is one image without a caption. Grandiose (me, talk, contribs) 20:49, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- That took a while to figure out. Corrected. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:07, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support with one very minor ce point below:
- "but Kenney preferred to have Bostock in command, and while he regarded the antipathy between Jones and Bostock as a nuisance, was happy to leave arrangements the way they were" - the "while" here could mean two different things; I'd suggest "although" instead. Hchc2009 (talk) 07:37, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Done. Hawkeye7 (talk) 22:11, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- "MacArthur preferred to control over land operations": Not sure I follow. Remove "over", or add "exercise", maybe? - Dank (push to talk) 01:26, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Changed. Hawkeye7 (talk) 10:25, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
