The Underground station at Blackfriars is to close in March 2009 for 2 ½ years as part of the Thameslink Programme's upgrade. The mainline station will remain open during this period.

The second phase of the London Low Emission Zone has begun, affecting buses and coaches, and lorries over 3.5 tonnes, amongst others. A 28 day warning i given for those who do not comply.

A new feature was introduced to geography articles recently showing the nearest transport links, after discussion.
The portal still sees to be only gaining contributions on the selected article and picture area. It seems there is a general lack of interest in the portal. There seemed to be controversy over whether to use the Suicide Bridge picture as the selected picture or whether the Jacob Ebstein statues should be used. This was in July. The August Image is yet to be decided.
There have been so major changes and conversions with the stations infobox (and possibly others).
Sorry for this edition being late as I was on holiday. This is still in its current format. The recent subscriptions and other things show there is still an interest in this. This project would not be here without its many contributors to the project.
