Ever wondered how to get started editing Wikipedia? On Sunday 8th February an editathon will be held in the Engineers Ireland from 11:15-14:00, when experienced editors will guide you through your first edits. One of our aims is to improve and expand articles relating to Women in engineering and History of women in engineering, especially those from Ireland and the UK.

This event is organised by Wikimedia Ireland Community and Engineers Week, with Rebecca and Shannon as trainers.

All are welcome, no editing experience is necessary and the event is free.

How to Prepare

1. Sign up for the event via Eventbrite
2. CREATE A WIKIPEDIA ACCOUNT (if you don't already have one)

Please set up an account before the event if at all possible. Very few details are needed: a Username, password, and we recommend giving your email, if only to be reminded of your password when you forget it. The short Wikipedia:Tutorial/Registration explains why this is a good idea.

To participate you will need to bring along a laptop or tablet, WIFI will be provided.
