Wikipedia:WikiProject Industrial design/Box scope
WikiProject Industrial design should be a descendent project of both WikiProject Visual arts (as is WikiProject WikiProject Graphic design among others) and, of WikiProject Technology (as is WikiProject Electronics among others). It will then have the value of uncluttering those other projects... It was born around Christmas 2009 (through Alainr345).
Scope
[edit]This WikiProject aims primarily to provide readers of Wikipedia a clear and consistent reference for Industrial design and its various components. Topics covered by this WikiProject include some, but not all, subcategories of the Category:Industrial design articles (in addition to all articles of that main category):
- Category:Industrial design awards (all articles);
- Category:Industrial design firms (all articles);
- Category:Product design (all articles);
- Category:Computer-aided design (all articles but no subcategories);
- Category:Industrial designers (all articles and all subcategories, except below);
- Category:Cycle designers (selected articles);
- Category:Textile designers (selected articles);
- not Category:Automobile designers (nor its subcategories);
- not Category:Motorcycle designers (nor its subcategories);
- not Category:Consumer goods (nor its subcategories, except below);
- Category:Furniture (selected articles);
- Category:Consumer electronics (to be evaluated);
- Category:Sports equipment (to be evaluated).
The ultimate goal of this project is to provide a comprehensive guide to Industrial design-related articles on Wikipedia.

- List:
- Identify all existing Wikipedia Industrial design-related articles (with Category:Industrial design or a subcategory).
- List Industrial design topics not already covered in Wikipedia articles. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/List_of_article_requests)
- Expand and format the list of articles accordingly. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/List_of_articles)
- Identify all existing Wikipedia Industrial design-related articles (with Category:Industrial design or a subcategory).
- Tag:
- Put the project banner {{WikiProject Industrial design}} on Industrial design related articles' talk page to make editors aware of the existence of this project.
- Tag the relevant articles with the {{Portal|Industrial design|Design_portal_logo.jpg}} template.
- Put the project banner {{WikiProject Industrial design}} on Industrial design related articles' talk page to make editors aware of the existence of this project.
- Assess:
- Assess (or reassess) unassessed articles. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/Assessment)
- Increase article quality towards Start, C, B, A, GA or FA status according to their importance level.

- Write:
