Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Politics section in Geography articles: Article structure
This is an information page. It is not an encyclopedic article, nor one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines; rather, its purpose is to explain certain aspects of Wikipedia's norms, customs, technicalities, or practices. It may reflect differing levels of consensus and vetting. |
The Geographic articles (cities, towns, districts, villages etc) should follow the section order given at
Politics
[edit]To create a Politics section in the Geography articles
Transclude the MLA Table from the Legislative assembly articles using
<!-- this section is transcluded on the District article--> <section begin="FOO district"/> <section end="FOO district"/>
Add the below code in the District articles.
== Politics ==
{{transcluded section|source=17th Bihar Assembly}}
{{#section:17th Bihar Assembly|MLA Header}}
{{#section:17th Bihar Assembly|{{subst:PAGENAME}}}}
|}
Example: Special:Diff/1103634912 and Special:Diff/1103638831 produced the table of MLAs.
The benefits of transclusion (in comparison to copy paste) is that if there are updates in the MLA status, only an edit in the Legisltative assembly is necessary. This makes the district articles easier to maintain.
