Q 41.04
Connect an ancient but absolutely fundamental system or format that was used in one of the Indian languages to a (rather) modern and absolutely fundamental system or format that was introduced by a scientist and widely used ever since. While the former one is still being appreciated for its exemplary computational advantages, latter one was so innovative like a prophecy. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 17:39, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is the AI and Sanskrit Language? Prasad (talk) 07:16, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Your answer is almost in the same direction...
Clue 1.
The scientist once said "burning petroleum is as sinful as using currency bills instead of firewood for cooking"! He (probably rightly) assumed it had a better value as a raw material. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 09:21, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

- Wow, i think it is Dimitri Mendelev, named his unknown elements in the periodic table, according to Panini's sanskrit grammar, siva sutras..?? Prasad (talk) 07:56, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
You are right now! :)
Only they are better known as MaheSwara Soothras. Even more than numbering those elements, the concept of structuring the periodic table (into proper rows and coloumns) was so innovative that was probably only once happened before that when Panini grouped the phonemes into 14 easy sets as basic data addressing system for his subsequent thousands of Vyakarana Soothras. Each such soothra could be very analogous to the symbolic formula for a complex chemical compound.
ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 08:43, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Viswa, that was very cryptic and also enlightening at the same time! Will put a new question by evening.Prasad (talk) 09:23, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Along the cut chicken A, there is a long and winding serpent B. It was the British who gave birth to this serpent. For many decades, it remained still and well. - Vishwa, you got it!, but Jairodz was also to be credited, can we split the point between you & Jairodz? Prasad(talk) 11:51, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

I agree with you Viswa, Nice of you for your generosity, Jairodz broke the monotonous dialogue, Jai pl. put up a good question :-)Prasad (talk) 14:15, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, it was indeed Mattanchery. :-) Did refer to the Mattancherry article knowing about the Jews settled there, and saw it referred to as the western part of city of Kochi. Then looked for some real town in Southern India named Pardes or Jerusalem. So dumb... :-) Not sure I could put up a worthy question but still will give it a try. And ViswaPrabha, your absence has more or less made the Kerala Quiz quite inactive. :-) --Jairodz(talk) 14:36, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Split the points. It's not fair if the points aren't at least shared. :-) Couldn't find much time to frame a question and I guess I'll be pretty busy over the weekends. So, please don't wait any longer if I don't come up with a question before the 24 hours limit. --Jairodz (talk) 18:28, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Q 41.22
Let me ask a question that is zara hatke. The question is about a specific Wikipedia article page. Through December 2007 to July 2008, it never had more than 400 visitors in a month. In August 2008, it had 1,50,000 visitors and this fell to less than 25,000 visitors the very next month. Ever since, it is yet to fall to less than 3,000 visitors a month. Which Wikipedia page is this?--Gurubrahma (talk) 16:16, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- Abhinav Bindra. Lynch7 16:43, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Q 41.23
Since User:MikeLynch could think of nothing, I for the first time usurp the baton and ask this easy one - If I fail to feed few birds, and they fly away... That day monarchy would crumble, that's what legends say! Who am I? ...DebashisM (talk) 19:49, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
I have heard Charlie worrying about the Ravens so! But is there an Indian connection? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 01:30, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
You are close... the answer should have been ravenmaster. Yeah you are right to an extent regarding the India bit... except that 'our' Kohinoor too is being guarded by the same guy and his colleagues in the tower of London. ;) The baton's yours ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ DebashisM (talk) 18:08, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Q 41.24
This is either too simple or too tricky!
There are males and females among them. Some are straight, but some a little awkward. Some smile while some other look worried. They come round in India and then go and squares with Britain. Elsewhere, they do either just as the men of land dictates. Who are they? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 18:25, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Is that electric plug? DebashisM (talk) 19:00, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes! ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 19:49, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Q 41.25
Since I seem to have answered correctly, I'm running away with the baton as in a relay-race.
Born in America, bred in Europe, travell'd in Africa, earned my wealth in India, spent in England, but remembered as an American institute ... who am I? DebashisM (talk) 20:35, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Could this be Mark Twain? Prasad (talk) 04:51, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- on second note, could this be Yale College, funded by Elihu Yale?? Prasad (talk) 05:10, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Prasad, you are right, it is Elihu Yale. Now its upon you to open the next round... -DebashisM (talk) 05:56, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
