Wikipedia:WikiProject Illinois/Collaboration

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to the Collaboration Division of WikiProject Illinois. Here is where a coalition of Wikipedians participate in the nomination and selecting of an Illinois-related article for collaboration, with the intent of expanding the article to Good article status or higher.

Every two weeks an article comes along that the editors here collectively decide shall temporarily become known as the WikiProject Illinois Current Collaboration of the Fortnight (aka the WP:ILLCCOTF). Kidding. Sometimes the collaboration will last more than two weeks sometimes less. The key is to bring the article up to GA status or higher through the collaboration. More than one article can be collaborated on at once if enough editors are interested but it should go through the nomination process below to make sure the collaboration has enough interest.

According to the 2000 census, the second largest city in Illinois in northern Illinois. This was once a major industrial center, and the leading center for furniture creating by Swedish immigrants who moved to the area as they came from Sweden. Also the city that houses the famous dinosaur Jane in their museum.Kranar drogin 05:20, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article is badly lacking. I did it a couple of things to it which improved its quality outright. Adherence to the U.S. Counties WikiProject article content guidelines shouldn't ever come at the expense of well written encyclopedia article. This article would greatly benefit from a much more in depth look at Ogle County and all of its facets. Sourcing will be of key concerns. I propose that sources come from either .edu, .gov, domains (or other known reliable sources i.e. news sites) or academic sources if we are going to cull stuff from the web. Official sites are okay too. I don't know, perhaps there needs to be a larger discussion about this, or some stated goals here which include the topic of sourcing. I delisted this as a Good article on 21 February 2007, it isn't horrible, it just needs a little TLC and some less ambiguous sourcing to bring it back up to GA status. This project probably wouldn't take horribly long. IvoShandor 08:48, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This very important Illinois article is unfortnately lacking. I have primed it for expansion, all we need do is descend upon it. IvoShandor 12:34, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
