Linked off HoS box, but doesn't really to the topic justice. Some of the most influential books mentioned only in passing in the references. Needs expanding, list format of sections taking out etc...

This currently redirects to Science studies, but sociology of science obviously ought to be an article on its own; this would also be a good topic for recruiting SSS-type scholars.

This is a topic where HPS, STS, etc. can really make a difference. The history of scientific method article should leave readers no doubt that "scientific method" is a historically contingent thing, not some pure idea that was "discovered." Tackling this article could be a warm-up for reforming Scientific method.

This is a very important topic and the article currently is a mess with way too much material in some areas and glaring omissions in others.

Comments It is about time we moved on from History of evolutionary thought which has been the official collaboration of the month for several months now, and I agree with the nominator that this article really needs a lot of expansion to do justice to the importance of the topic. Louis Pasteur was an incredibly important person in the history of science. His article is lacking, and needs quite a bit of rewording.

2009 is the International Year of Astronomy, marking the 500th anniversary of Galileo's first astronomical observations and the publication of Johannes Kepler's Astronomia nova. User:RJHall has suggested that this page be brought up to FA status by 2009 so it could receive front page coverage on August 25, 2009, the anniversary of Galileo's first demonstration of the telescope, or November 30, the anniversary of his first use of the telescope for astronomical observations

- To bring the article up to FA status we will probably need to address some of the criticisms made in its last FA review. —David Wilson (talk · cont) 14:47, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
