Wikipedia:WikiProject Historical Atlas/BD is the Boundaries Department of the Wikiproject Historical Atlas. The Boundaries Department has the purpose of perfecting the accuracy of boundaries of countries or other entities on the historical atlas.
Methods
[edit]The methods of creating accurate boundaries on maps are:
- Copying boundaries from existing online maps on our maps.
- Adjusting boundaries of existing online maps, when it is needed. For instance due to minor differences in scale or due to historical investigation.
- Creating own boundaries, when there are non-sufficient examples of boundaries to be found online.
For the inexperienced
[edit]If you want to join this project and make maps, but you have no experience, than the boundary department will make tutorials on how to draw and scale maps.

[edit]The plan is to make a world atlas, showing the political situation worldwide at the start of every century.
