Guild of Copy Editors October 2014 Newsletter
We hope you'll forgive our tardiness in writing and sending out this newsletter; your coordinators haven't been resting on their laurels! The blitzes and drives have been keeping us all busy, and we've been tidying and simplifying some of our pages, particularly the drive and blitz pages. We hope you'll notice and appreciate the changes we've made there. Participation: Thanks to everyone who participated in the August Blitz and the September Drive.
Progress report: The August Blitz removed 22 requests from our Requests page. The September Drive removed another 30 requests and removed 199 articles from the {{copy edit}} backlog—including a round 100 from those tagged in the target months; June, July, and August 2013. As of 22:09, 15 October 2014 (UTC), the backlog stands at 2,432 articles. Well done everyone! Blitz: The October Blitz will run from October 19-25 and will focus on articles tagged by Wikiproject History and Wikiproject Albums. Awards will be given out to everyone who copy edits at least one of the target articles. Sign up here! Thank you all once again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve anything without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators Jonesey95, Baffle gab1978, and Miniapolis. To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.
