The proposed WikiProject was not created. Close proposal due to insufficient interest from other editors. Ajpolino (talk) 16:47, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- There are many articles specifically written with thermodynamics in mind. Many of them have poor references, need rewritten, and pages with similar information need to be merged. A specific group of people who know a thing or two about thermodynamics need to communicate with each other and improve every thermodynamics article. Many of the wiki projects active with these articles are a bit of a reach for the knowledge base that would help the most with the articles. Currently the WikiProject Physics is a bit to broad with many divisions within it, a more narrow team should dedicate in improving thermodynamics articles.Cky2250 (talk) 03:00, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
[edit]It appears that this project would cover about 300 pages, which would make it a more appropriate size for a task force (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide#Identify the best scope). However, that is just a guideline. On the plus side, a lot of these articles are of interest to people in multiple disciplines, so making it a WikiProject might avoid the thorny question of which project the task force should be in. A different estimate of the potential size comes from the number of links from articles to Thermodynamics: over 1100. RockMagnetist (talk) 16:30, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, thanks for the reply. It is a bit late for me to get involved. I am a bit inactive nowadays. So for others maybe it should be made still just not by me.—CKY2250 ταικ 23:30, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Wow, never replied to this when it was proposed.
- For reasons given above, I agree with a wikiproject on thermodynamics rather than a taskforce since editors from chemistry, engineering, biology, etc. can participate in concentrated editing on thermodynamics. At first it may be inactive since so many people are used to WikiProject physics, but maybe it will grow quickly. M∧Ŝc2ħεИτlk 16:49, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Given the response on this page, it seems unlikely that there are enough people willing to help. Even Cky2250, a mere month after proposing this WikiProject, announced "I am a bit inactive nowadays"! If the project existed, I might help a bit, but I don't want to commit much time to it. RockMagnetist (talk) 18:01, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I doubt much contribution from myself to be fair, just saying I would support a separate wikiproject rather than a physics taskforce. There may be only three editors in this proposal, but with time more editors may join and collaborate... or may not. The thermodynamics project can be started anytime without rush or fuss, it's not in the way of anything. M∧Ŝc2ħεИτlk 01:04, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
