The resulting WikiProject was created at Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Romantic Music task force
Description
[edit]This Wikiproject will aim to improve pages about Romantic composers and music. Etincelles and I have already created some pages on this topic and would like support from others. We think that this should be created because there is already one for Classical music and not for Romantic music. By creating this we could expand the amount of Wikipedia uses who enjoy and want to create pages about the genre. Pianoplonkers (talk) 15:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose Pianoplonkers (talk) 15:47, 17 September 2009 (UTC) - I have now created one under romantic music. Thanks for all of your help.[reply]
- Support Etincelles (talk) 16:20, 16 September 2009 (UTC) - This project would help support pages struggling to develop fully.[reply]
- Oppose Karljoos (talk) 17:10, 16 September 2009 (UTC). I would support, though, a subproject within Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music called "project piano" or something similar which would deal with several aspects of the piano and its world (piano makers, repertoire etc). I am sorry but I think this "Romantic Pianism" project is too specific and not necessary on Wikipedia.[reply]
- Oppose project but Support task force.Calaka (talk) 08:33, 17 September 2009 (UTC) Sorry but I would like to echo what Karlkoos said and say that while I appreciate the team work and effort you guys are clearly showing, I would much prefer if the concept gets turned into a task force under the banner of Classical music. The concept itself can still very much contain all of the aspects that you guys had planned initially but will all be contained under the Classical music banner and talk page template. Your talk page tag can look something like this: {{classical|piano=yes}} (although the specific name you want to give it would be just as great). Here is an example of another taskforce under the classical music banner: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Classical_music/Compositions_task_force. Do note this has potential to get more individuals to be part of the task force (since those that are into classical music might also be interested in piano specifics) and would see an increase in number of individuals joining. I wish you well.Calaka (talk) 08:33, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment User Pianoplonkers already established the Romantic Music task force. I hope he will develop his ideas more widely. I agree with Calaka's proposal of "piano task force", covering piano music of all eras. I'll also inform at the Classical Music Project.--Vejvančický (talk) 10:13, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
